Brasília, 3/11/2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The Senate has rejected all 35 amendments to the government's electricity sector bill on commercialization of electricity (Medida Provisorio 144). The bill now returns to the Chamber of Deputies where it is expected to be approved quickly.

The Senate also approved Medida Provisorio 145 which deals with the establishment of the sector planning company (Empresa de Pesquisa Energética) (EPE). (AB)
