São Paulo, 3/8/2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Yesterday afternoon a rebellion at a juvenile detention center (Fundação para o Bem-Estar do Menor) (Febem), in Franco da Rocha, metropolitan region of São Paulo, came to an end. It is believed the uprising began when inmates were denied permission to receive food brought by visitors.

Three hostages were released unharmed. There were no reports of injuries or property destruction. (AB)
