Ecuador will use Brazilian electronic voting machines

Brasília - The Chief Justices (presidents) of the Federal Election Boards (Tribunal Superior Eleitoral) of Brazil and Ecuador, Sepúlveda Pertence and Nicanor Moscoso, respectively, have signed a technical cooperation contract that will make it possible for Ecuador to use 800 Brazilian electronic voting machines in municipal elections this October. The agreement is supported by the Organization of American States.

In the recent past Brazil has provided similar cooperation in the form of electronic voting machines to Paraguay, Mexico and Argentina. (AB)
