Recife, February 27, 2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Dislodged families whose homes were destroyed by January and February's heavy rains in municipalities in the drylands, transitional zone, and rain forest zone of the state of Pernambuco will receive new houses, to be built with resources from the Philips multinational corporation.

The donation of R$ 3 million will be made today to Governor Jarbas Vasconcelos by the company president for Latin America, Marcos Magalhães, at a ceremony in the Palace of the Field of the Princesses.

The location, model, and quantity of houses will be decided by the state secretariats of Planning and Social Action. (DAS)
