Garcia emphasizes importance of Presidential Summit

Caracas, February 27, 2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Presidential adviser for International Affairs, Marco Aurélio Garcia, considered important today's meeting between the Presidents of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and Argentina, Nestor Kirchner. "These three countries are important for the strengthening of the Latin American economy," Garcia observed.

He informed that matters concerning the economic interests of the three countries were discussed at the tripartite meeting. As for Venezuela's entry into the Mercosur, he said that it is a possibility, but he pointed out that this depends much more on the disposition of the Venezuelan government. (DAS)
