Brasília, February 12, 2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - On Tuesday (10), Flavio Saretta, from São Paulo, won his first-round match at the ATP tournament in Viña de Mar, opening the Latin American Circuit. Saretta defeated Hermes Gamonal, from Chile (6/2, 6/1), and will face Luis Horna, from Peru, today, in the second round.

"I played with concentration the whole time. I consider this a very important victory, since you have to win games at the beginning of the season in to gain confidence," affirmed Brazil's second best tennis player and nº 45 in the ATP Entry Ranking.

His coach, Fernando Roese also liked the way Saretta played. "His game was tactically correct, and, with a great deal of calm, he was able to control the match. Even though he was a little bit nervous at the start, he didn't give Gamonal any chance to react." (DAS)
