Banco do Brasil offers financing to small tourist firms in Rio

Rio - The Superintendency of the Banco do Brasil in Rio de Janeiro and the state secretary of Labor will sign a contract today for a program to be known as Proger Tourism (Generate Tourism), which will provide financing for tourism firms with income of up to R$5 million.

According to the secretary, Marco Antonio Lucidi, the program will offer fast credit at a low cost for entrepreneurs with the objective of boosting one of Rio's main economic sectors: tourism. The idea being to strengthen the local economy and create jobs. (AB)
