Brazil is leader in digital cinema, says US newspaper

Brasília, February 5, 2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Brazil is in the vanguard of digital cinema. And plans to have one hundred totally digital movie theaters by May. It will soon be world leader in this area. This news appears in yesterday's (4) edition of the US newspaper, Christian Science Monitor, in the midst of comments about Brazilian progress in digital cinema.

According to the newspaper, the historical landmark in this advance occurred last October, when the Brazilian film, "The Normal Ones," was shown in São Paulo movie theaters with digital software developed by a Brazilian firm, Rain Networks. (DAS)
