January IPC showed rise of 0.65%

São Paulo, 2/4/2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The Consumer Price Index (IPC) survey, which is conducted by the Economic Research Institute Foundation (Fipe), found that prices in São Paulo rose 0.65% in January. In spite of the increase, it was below market estimates which were running at 0.75%. Inflation was pressured upward by Education (up 9.28%) and Personal Expenditures (up 86% because of vacation expenses). (AB)
