Brasília, 1/28/2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The new minister of Social Development, Patrus Ananias, says that he is making a survey of all the social programs that are operational and that his main concern at the moment is ensuring continuity.

He declared that the economic and social areas complement each other to the point where there is no way for policy to be efficient without development. "The goal of the Lula administration is to create jobs and improve people's lives," Ananias said, adding that with 83% of Brazil's population living in cities, it was time to take social assistance programs to urban centers.
