Brasília, January 28, 2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The Ministry of Agriculture raised to ten the number of countries from which purchases of live poultry are restricted. The countries are: South Korea, Vietnam, Japan, China, Cambodia, Thailand, Taiwan, Laos, Indonesia, and Pakistan. According to the Ministry, surveillance and inspection will be intensified at ports and airports, with stricter control of baggage coming from these countries. (DAS)
