Stock market closes down and dollar rises slightly

Brasília, 1/14/2004 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The São Paulo stock market (Bolsa de Valores de São Paulo) (Bovespa) closed out the day yesterday down 1.23% at 23,936.

Meanwhile the commercial dollar rose 0.53% to R$2.805 (buy) and R$2.807 (sell). At the same time the Brazil risk premium also rose 4.15% to 409. (AB)
