Market estimates for GDP growth fall to 0.13% for 2003

Brasília, 12/23/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - With less than 10 days left in the year, the latest Central Bank weekly survey of market estimates, known as the Focus Bulletin, shows a further fall in market estimates for GDP growth this year. Last week the market estimate was that GDP growth would close out the year at 0.20%. This week it is 0.13%.

Other market estimates were basically stable: inflation 9.17% (as measured by the Broad Consumer Price Index - IPCA), trade surplus of US$23.8 billion (up from US$23.75 billion last week. (AB)
