Steel Institute announces the sector plans to invest US$4 billion by 2007

Rio, 12/18/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The Brazilian Steel Institute (IBS) reports that the sector intends to invest R$4 billion between now and 2007. That comes on top of the US$13 billion already invested in the sector since it was privatized.

At the moment, Brazil produces 34 million tons of steel annually. With the new investments that will rise to 40 million by 2007. (AB)
