Dubai, 12/8/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - During his visit of less than 24 hours to the United Arab Emirates capital of Dubai, president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and the Brazilian businessmen accompanying him closed a number of deals.
A Brazilian firm, Image, which adminsters satellites, will sell satellites pictures to Arab buyers interested in environmental studies and security. Avibrás, which manufactures military equipment, will sell an estimated US$400 million worth of goods (mainly missile launchers). Embraer is negotiating a contract for civilian and military aircraft that could be worth as much as US$20 billion. There are good possibilities that Brazilian firms can supply Dubai hotels with a series of products, mostly furniture. (AB)
