Electricity consumption rose 4.1% between January and September

Brasília, 12/4/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Electricity consumption in Brazil rose 0.7% in September, compared to September 2002. Accordng to Eletrobras, the cumulative rise in consumption for the year has been 4.1%.

Residential consumption is up 6.2%, industrial consumption up 1.3%.

In the Central-West region, consumption is up 15%, in the North up 8.1%, South up 3.6% and Southeast, up 1.8% - all compared to the same period in 2002. (AB)
