UN report says Brazil has made progress in fight against illegal drugs

Brasília, 12/3/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Brazilian anti-drugs policy has made progress in recent years, especially in preventing consumption, says a report by Alfredo Pemjean, the representative of the International Board on Control of Drugs. Pemjean is visiting Brazil and met with Valmir Lemos de Oliveira, an official at the National Secretariat of Public Security, yesterday.

The board is housed in the UN Office Against Drugs and Crime. (AB)
