Brasília, 12/3/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Ministers Marina Silva, of Environment, Gilberto Gil, of Culture, and Olívio Dutra, of Cities, have signed an agreement on technical cooperation which will integrate their activities in protecting the environment, preserving historical sites and promoting urban development. The agreement is in line with the Agenda 21, which was drawn up at the 1992 Rio de Janeiro meeting known as Eco-92.
Under the agreement, the ministers will work to get all Brazilian municipalities involved and actively participating in Agenda 21 projects by the year 2007. (AB)
