Brasília, 12/3/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The Banco do Brasil has announced that it is joining Global Compact, a United Nations organization which brings together the international business community in action programs in favor of social responsibility, human and labor rights, and protection of the environment.

Carlos Lopes of the UN Development Program explains that Global Compact is a volunteer effort by businesses all over the world. (AB)
