Brasília, 11/25/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The daily average value of Brazilian exports was up 16.4% in the third week of November, compared to the same period last year. According to the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), the daily average value of exports was US$298.3 million (compared to US$256.4 million in 2002).
Boosting the surge in exports were beef, pork and chicken, along with petroleum, soybeans, iron ore and soybean flakes - all up an average 22% this year, compared to last November. Also up slightly over 20% were exports of certain types of aluminum, steel and iron wire, tractors, vehicle chassis with motors, aircraft, cargo vehicles, furniture, gasoline and refined sugar.
Exports for the month of November are now at US$1.348 billion, and for the year at US$64.830 billion. (AB)
