Rio, November 7, 2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Petrobras should not make any further adjustments this year in the prices of petroleum derivatives, especially gasoline, the price of which has been stable since the 10% reduction announced by the company in April. This affirmation was made today in Rio by Petrobras's director of Supply, Rogério Manso, during a ceremony to inaugurate an exhibit in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the state enterprise, at the headquarters of the Rio de Janeiro Commercial Association (ACRJ).

Manso recognized, however, that consumption of petroleum derivatives in the country accompanied the economy as a whole and ended the first semester with a 4%-5% decline, a tendency that is expected to be maintained until the end of the year, despite signs of economic recovery projected for the fourth quarter.
