IMF mission will recommend approval of its fifth revision of Brazilian agreement

Rio, 11/4/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The International Monetary Fund mission which is presently in Brazil is making its fifth and final revision of the September 2002 IMF-Brazil agreement. According to the head of the mission, Jorge Marquez-Ruarte, the mission's recommendation to the IMF board will be for approval. Board approval will make the final tranche of the US$30 billion loan agreement available to Brazil, a total of US$8 billion, which should happen in four or five weeks. Then it will be up to the Brazilian government to decide whether or not to withdraw the money. (AB)
