Incra-PR budget increases to over R$ 100 million this year

Curitiba, October 17, 2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The budget of the Incra (National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform) to finance agrarian reform in the state of Paraná (PR) will, just this year, expand from R$ 15 million to slightly over R$ 100 million. The superintendent of the organ, Celso Lisboa de Lacerda, also informed that the federal government is liberating R$ 100 million of the R$ 170 million it reserved for all of the 29 Incra superintendencies in the country

Next Tuesday (21), the Minister of Agrarian Development, Miguel Rossetto, and the president of the Incra, Rolf Hackbar, will meet with Governor Roberto Requião in Curitiba to make public the terms for the purchase of 25 thousand hectares belonging to the Araupel farm, in Quedas do Iguaçu. The land will be used to settle the more than one thousand members of the Landless Rural Laborers Movement who have occupied the area since June. (DAS)
