Brasília, October 16, 2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The president of the Central Bank (BC), Henrique Meirelles, said today that the Brazilian government's conversations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) over the possibility of signing a new agreement are still underway. According to Meirelles, no definition has been reached yet over the possible value of the loan. However, the newspaper, "O Globo," in its Thursday edition, informs that the precautionary agreement with the international agency would amount to US$ 10 billion. (DAS)
