Brasília, September 23, 2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The National Fund for the Development of Education (FNDE) will transfer R$ 74.8 million to be used to purchase 17 million textbooks and 700 dictionaries for 2.7 million students in São Paulo. The agreement was signed this morning by the Minister of Education, Cristovam Buarque, the secretary of Education of São Paulo, Gabriel Chalita, and the president of the FNDE, Hermes de Paula. The material to be purchased will represent about 14% of the total of textbooks acquired by the Ministry of Education. (DAS)
