Curitiba, 9/23/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The state of Paraná expects to harvest 30 million tons of grain in the 2003/2004 harvest season, says the state secretary of Agriculture, Orlando Pessuti. For the sake of comparison, last year's harvest was 27 million tons.
Pessuti points out that Paraná, with only 2% of the country's territory, and without being able to expand its existing cropland, is rising to the challenge of the need for increased production. (AB)
