São Paulo, 9/17/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Distributors of electricity are going to get an injection of R$3 billion from the Brazilian Development Bank (Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social) so it can pay off debts and avoid running the risk of a supply collapse. The funding is part of the government's Capitalization Support Program for Electricity Distributors which was announced yesterday by the minister of Mines and Energy, Dilma Rousseff, and the BNDES president, Carlos Lessa.
