Rio, September 16, 2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Steel production in Brazil broke an all-time record in August, with a total volume of 2.775 million tons, according to data released on Monday in Rio, by the Brazilian Steel Institute (IBS). The same thing occurred with flat laminated sheets, the production of which attained 1.133 million tons in August. According to the IBS, the high level of exports explains this unprecedented result.
