Rio, 9/16/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The executive secretary at the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Maurício Tolmasquim, reports that the formation of an energy pool in 2004 should result in proportional decreases in the average cost of electricity around the country. The formation of the energy pool is part of the government's future model for the sector. "The idea of the pool is to reach a point of balance that will not be detrimental to generators, while also bringing benefits to consumers with lower costs," explained Tolmasquim. (AB)
