Rio, July 31, 2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The National Economic and Social Development Bank (BNDES) will finance the export of 14 buses, 18 trucks, and 2 frames by Scania Latin America to Peru.
According to the BNDES, up to US$ 2.9 million in credit will be made available, corresponding to 85% of the value of the transaction, which is estimated at US$ 3.5 million.
Since 1994, the BNDES has been financing exports of this type of heavy vehicle to Peru. Including the current operation with Scania, the bank has already made three loans this year involving exports of buses, trucks, and frames to that country. The first two, worth a total of up to US$ 1.795 million, were made to the Marcopolo company, the largest manufacturer of bus bodies in the country. (DAS)
