Brasília, 7/23/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Yesterday the Brazilian women's volleyball team beat Canada in Grand Prix play at Matera, Italy. The score was 3 sets to 0 (25/23, 25/18 and 25/20). This was Brazil's second victory in the first phase of the competition (they beat Thailand in their first game).

Today the Brazilians face Russia (at 1:00 pm Brasilia time). On Friday they play China and on Saturday, South Korea. (AB)
