Rio, July 3, 2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The National Economic and Social Development Bank (BNDES) announced today, in Rio, the beginning of the 2003 season in support of the national movie industry. Script proposals should be submitted between July 7 and August 8. The Bank's financial support is limited to R$ 120 thousand for short documentaries, R$ 200 thousand for medium-length films, and R$ 500 thousand, or 30% of the total in Audiovisual Investment Certificates authorized by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Brazil (CVM), for full-length fiction or documentary films. Last year, the BNDES provided a total of R$ 7 million to help make 24 films. (DAS)
