Brasília, 6/26/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The president of Lebanon, Emile Lahoud, has informed Brazilian minister of Foreign Relations, Celso Amorim, that he approves of and will support the idea by president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for a South American - Middle East Summit in 2004.

While in Beirut, Amorim gave Lahoud a letter from Lula and met with the minister of Foreign Relations, Jean Obeid, and the president of the National Assembly, Nabih Berri. Amorim also particpated in a demonstration of the Embraer, Brazilian-made executive jet, Legacy, for local defense and aviation authorities. (AB)
