Brasília, June 24, 2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Ukrania wants to sign an agreement for sports cooperation with Brazil. One of the clauses of the agreement will provide for greater supervision, by both governments, of the sale of soccer players between the two countries. The Vice-Prime Minister of Ukrania, Dmitro Tabatchnik, who met on Monday (23) with the Minister of Sports, Agnelo Queiroz, placed at Brazil's disposal the professors of the Ukranian Federal University considered one of the best in Europe in the training of specialists in Sports Medicine.
Brazil, which already has sports cooperation agreements with Spain, Cuba, Iran, Uruguay, and Ecuador, as well as understandings with Russia and Denmark, can sign this exchange with Ukrania in October, when the Ukranian Prime Minister will visit Brazil.
The Minister of Sports expressed interest in the agreement's making it possible for Brazilian gymnasts to go to Ukrania to learn new gymnastic techniques, a Ukranian specialty. (DAS)
