Paris (France), January 28, 2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's first obligation, right after his arrival in Paris, was to make a telephone call, from the airport, to ex-President Fernando Henrique Cardoso. The conversation lasted about 10 minutes. Cardoso has been in the French capital ever since he left the government, on January 1.

Presidential Press Secretary, Ricardo Kotscho, didn't disclose what the two conversed about. He said only that Lula would like to get together with Cardoso but doesn't know whether this will be possible, because of the President's scheduled commitments in Paris. (DAS)
