Brasília, 1/28/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The 513 members of the Chamber of Deputies take office on Saturday (February 1) for four-year terms. The session will be presided over by deputy Henrique Eduardo Alves (PMDB/Rio Grande do Norte), because he has served the most terms of office (seven).

At the Senate, 54 new senators take office for eight-year terms also on Saturday. The session there will be presided over by Antero Paes de Barros (PSDB/MT). The other 27 senators still have four more years in office. (AB)
