Banco do Brasil launches credit card in Japanese

Brasília, 1/28/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - In March, Banco do Brasil (BB) clients in Japan will be able to get a magnetic card, the Ourocard/Visa. The bank says it expects to have 10,000 users by the end of the year. Banco do Brasil has seven outlets in Japan.

This is the first time a Brazilian bank has offered clients abroad a bank card. It will offer a series of advantages, such as various payment dates, and credit and debit functions,

The BB seeks to become a world bank player, building on its leading position in Brazil, where 4.6 million people use its bank cards. (AB)
