Brasília, 14/1/2003 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The vice president of the Indian Missionary Council(Cimi), Saulo Feitosa, met with the minister of Justice, Marcio Thomaz Bastos, yesterday and proposed the creation of an Indian Policy Council, to be coordinated by the National Indian Foundation (Funai), which would set policy for Brazil's indigenous population.
"This would be the first time the government used people close to Indian social movements and Indian support organizations to set policy for the indigenous peoples of Brazil," said Feitosa. (AB)
