Brasília, December 9, 2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The minister of Development, Industry, and Foreign Trade, Sérgio Amaral, receives the president of Varig, Manuel Eduardo Mendes, today, for another series of conversations about restructuring the company's debts, which amount to approximately US$ 900 million. This is one more attempt by the company to resolve one of the gravest crises ever experienced by Varig - the country's number one airline and one of the largest in the world. It is the expectation of Varig Pilots' Association (Apvar) employees that beginning with this meeting the airline will manage to advance in negotiations over the company's debts. (DAS)
