President of Bolivia: price of Bolivian gas could come down

05/12/2002 - 18h26

Brasília, 12/6/2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The president of Bolívia, Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozada, declared that the price of natural gas Brazil imports from Bolivia could come down if taxes on transportation were reduced. At the moment, Brazil imports 9 million cubic meters of gas daily from Bolivia, one-third of that country's production. Lozada said that the challenge is to reduce the price of the gas, which would be favorable to Brazil, but without losses for Bolivia. (AB)
