Rio, 12/6/2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - The policemen who participated in the capture of drug dealer, Elias Pereira da Silva, (known as "Crazy" Elias), who is accused of murdering journalist Tim Lopes, have received citations for their bravery by the governor, Benedita da Silva.

The drug lord was arrested in September after police made a three-day sweep through a Rio slum known as Grota, which is part of a larger slum area known as "complexo do Alemão." (AB)
