Brasília, 12/6/2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - According to minister of Foreign Relations, Celso Lafer, the political crisis in Paraguay, where the legislature has approved the impeachment of president Luiz Angel González Macchi, is not expected to disrupt the XXIII Mercosur Council meeting, which is taking place in Brasilia.

Paraguay is scheduled to substitute Brazil and take over the presidency of Mercosur in January. The presidency changes every six months. (AB)
