Brazil and China discuss ocean science agreements

Brasília, 12/6/2002 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Talks have begun between Brazil and China for cooperation in ocean sciences. A Chinese mission, headed by Wang Shu Huang, ended preliminary negotiations yesterday. He declared that the main result of the talks was an exchange of information on the sector.

Leonilda Correa, an advisor for international cooperation at the Ministry of Science and Technology, points out that Brazil-China cooperation already includes biotechnology and informatics.

Brazil has ocean science cooperation agreements with India and Germany. (AB)
