President of Angola says he hopes for Brazilian cooperation in various areas

Brasília, 1 (Agência Brasil - ABr) - Today president Fernando Henrique Cardoso had lunch with the president of Angola, José Eduardos dos Santos. After the meeting, Cardoso said that the possibility of peace in Angola exists and a rebuilding process could begin. Santos visit to Brazil takes place a week after the death of Unita leader, Jonas Savimbi.

In a joint press conference, Santos called Cardoso a "great friend of Angola," and said that Brazil could help his country in the areas of petroleum, building and mining, along with civil aviation, agriculture and transportation. (AB)
