Brasília - Speaking at the 3rd Summit of Leaders of South American and Arab nations (“ASPA”), in Lima, Peru, on Tuesday, October 2, president Dilma Rousseff declared that the Iranian government must ensure the international community that its nuclear program has peaceful objectives and is not producing weapons. Dilma added that any external initiative against Iran would be an international violation, “… and have grave consequences for humanity.”
Dilma went on to call for the creation of a zone free of weapons of mass destruction. “Brazil supports initiatives that would create an area free of nuclear weapons in the Middle East,” she declared, adding that the ideal is seek solutions through dialogue and peaceful means.
