Brasília – The Amazon River is at record flood levels. And there is the worst drought in memory in Northeast Brazil.
The government has authorized the sale of 500,000 tons of its corn stockpiles to farm cooperatives and farmers in areas hit by drought and flooding.
Drought is a problem in the South and Northeast. Flooding is taking place in the Amazon (North).
