Brasília – Tax and other government revenue (“impostos e contribuições federais”) in February reached a historical high of R$1.902 billion, an increase of 5.91%, compared to February 2011.
Cumulative revenue for the year so far is now R$14.482 billion, up 5.99%, compared to the same period in 2011.
In an explanatory note, the Brazilian IRS (“Receita Federal”) reported that although there was a drop in manufacturing production (“produção industrial”), down 3.4% in a year-to-year comparison, the fact is that sales rose 7.7% and the salary mass ("massa salarial") was up over 16.5% during the same period.
