Brazil participates in FAO sanitation talks

Brasília – Techinicans from the Ministry of Agriculture are in Rome since Sunday, April 2 for the 1st Meeting of the Commission on Sanitation Measures (1ª Reunião da Comissão de Medidas Fitossanitárias) which is taking place at the headquaters of the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

According to Girabis Ramos, head of Vegetable Sanitation at the ministry, the meeting will focus on measures to ensure the safety of goods in transit, establishing areas free of fruit flies and standards for vegetable quarantine in international comerce, along with protocols for the diagnosis of regulated plagues.
