Brasília – The latest market survey by the Central Bank (the Focus report) has found that estimates for future inflation are on the rise, mainly due to increases in educational and urban transportation costs at the beginning of the year. The most recent weekly survey shows that the market raised its inflation estimate for the year (as measured by the Broad Consumer Price Index -IPCA) from 4.50% to 4.58%.

The government's official inflation target for 2006 is 4.50%.
