Brazilian commander to be honored today in ceremony in Haiti

Brasília – Today in Port-au-Prince, capital of Haiti, a ceremony in honor of Brazilian general Urano Bacellar will take place. Bacellar was found dead in his hotel room on Saturday. Following the ceremony the body will be transported back to Brazil.

General Bacellar had been the commander of the UN Stabilizatin Mission in Haiti (Minustah) since September 2005. The new temporary commander of Minustah is general Eduardo Aldunate Herman, a Chilean.
